There is a serious shortage of vaccines on the African continent. As a result, African countries are almost entirely dependent on what other continents can provide. The temporary lifting of patents on these vaccines, so that Africa can produce its own vaccines, is therefore one of the major discussion points of the G7. But in practice, do African countries also have the infrastructure and technology to start producing corona vaccines?
